Liposculpture of the Body

Liposculpture, an advanced form of liposuction, can be very effective in reshaping the contours and improving the curvatures in specific areas of the body including the upper arms, chest, abdomen, flanks, buttocks, waist, hips and thighs. Performed on an outpatient basis, the procedure precisely removes excess fat deposits by using smaller, more refined medical instruments.

Procedure: All methods involve the use of a special tube device ("cannula") for the suction of fatty tissues. Commonly, tumescent liposculpture and the PAL method are used for body contouring. Tumescent liposculpture is a technique that uses an injection which combines a saline and anesthetic solution (which accounts for the minimization of post-operative bruising). The PAL method relies on an ultrasound probe to liquefy fat prior to suction. Liposculpture of the Body recovery: Usual activities can be done after 5-7 days. Immediately after the procedure, special compression garments should be worn for 1 month in order to allow excessive skin to retract.

Rare complications: Transitory bruises and mild edema which disappear within two weeks. Transitory sensitivity disorders of the skin, irregularities of the skin contour are also possible. To avoid these complication an early postoperative massage will be suggested.
